In order to show the history of Benidorm, the Department of Historical Heritage organizes guided tours by archaeologists in charge of the action, which will take place on 22nd and 23rd August, from 18 to 21 hours. With this action is encouraged citizens and groups of Benidorm to sign up for this initiative.
The work carried out by the team of archaeologists have located the outer canvas of the walls that delimited a larger enclosure than the one occupied by the traditional Plaça del Castell. In the eastern and southeastern areas, the remains of the original walls and several of the rooms have been located.
From the outcropped structures and remains date form the 15th and 17th centuries. A tower has been located to the east, its possible par to the west, and a cube (a larger structure) to the south, to close the defensive structure, as well as rooms and rooms.
Interested parties should contact the department at 96 681 54 86, forming groups of up to 15 people who in visits of 20/25 minutes will know the actions and details of the remains outcropping.
These archaeological prospections will provide an undoubted and greater tourist attraction to the place and with this action, scheduled for its end before November 15th, everyone will know the history of the castle which is the History of Benidorm.
